Dinner with the neighbors

Last night we had our first of what is to be many dinner at our neighbor's home. This is the son and daughter-in-law of the sellers of our new home. As they deal with the change of new neighbors, the kids see it as new friends (as we do also). Our new neighbor has the same first and middle name as my wife (how ironic!!). Now when we turn and call out our wife's name we have to create new warm fuzzy names for them.

A will always be A to me...

It will be her birthday on the 23rd and I am anxiously waiting to figure out what I want to get her. Any ideas???

We spent tonight hanging some pictures on the wall. A even made a fire in the fireplace... how cool!! Our middle son got the firewood and was sooooo proud of himself for helping mommy start the fire. I helped bring the fire to a mild roar and we are now warm!!

Doubts

Have you ever had a day where it seems the world is closing in on you and everyone is sucking the life out of you? I am having one of those days, maybe weeks. I normally can verbalize my needs, but I am finding myself going deeper and deeper in thought to the point of sitting and not talking to anyone around me. I find myself praying to God to help me and to provide comfort, but I am not hearing his voice. I understand we need to wait for the voice to come and listen. I am trying to be patient. I am frustrated with the hectic pace of life. I found myself putting H to bed tonight thinking "One more day closer to death of this life." Pretty morbid, but true.

I need a vacation. Not from the kids or A, but just a vacation.

A and I were watching the BGSU game and it was taken off ESPN2 tonight (satillite TV - it seems they do not know we were in Ohio and we were supposed to continue watching the BGSU game and not UCLA basketball). A turned the channel to the Country Music Awards. It seamed during the last 30 minutes we watched, the speekers and singers were talking and praising God and thanking Jesus for thier gift. I was amazed and excited to hear of these great singers praising God and singing songs about Jesus on national TV.

I am glad the holidays are coming up. We hope to get the new house decorated soon!!

Busy... Maybe too busy

Still busy trying to get everything organized in the new house and waiting for the old house to sell. There are a lot of homes on the market now and we are wondering when someone will come along and buy it. I just keep praying that we will be able to sell the home soon!!

H was sick on Monday
A has had sinus problems all week
L cut his hand climbing a fence -- it is healing fine...
GJ was jumping off a shed and having fun.. NO INJURIES!!
I am working too much and not getting enough sleep. I lay down and pop up after a 10 min nap and cannot sleep... mind is too busy.
